(prologue)
The river water of the Potomac flows fast and relentlessly!
But even eons of river flow cannot wash away the memories of the dead!

IF I COULD TOUCH A CLOUD
(Leesburg, VA)
All along the bank of the Potomac River rests the bones of the forgotten dead!
All of the songs and the poetry, the very memories, of the lives lost saturate the sand!
Someone at some time must have looked up into the sky and asked, no, pleaded to God!
He must have said, God, if only I could touch a cloud would I be delivered from this
sufferable existence away from my homeland and the people I know!
