(Prologue)
Ann Sears died thirty-one days ago of measles!
She recently awakened, confused and mortified, from her death!
Now, she ponders why is she alive again!

WHY AM I ALIVE AGAIN
(Bangor, Maine)
I woke up dead again but, as usual, I don't know if I will go asleep tonight alive!
It has taken me three long days to work my fingers limber enough to hold this pen!
I am writing these words on this scrap paper to leave something that says I lived again!
Who knows why I am alive again, decomposed and addled, but at least I don't have a
taste for human flesh or brains!
