The first zombie attacks in the Midwest of the zombie apocalypse started in central Michigan.
By the time the CDC scientists determined the cause, the monsters had overrun the state.
It was a combination of lead, river metals and decades of pollution in the drinking water that did it.
The brain rot of the polluted drove them mad... and their bites spread the madness... and the governor of the state still has not admitted his part in the ongoing spreading death.
