The horrid past of this place,
Swept under the rugs of time and shame and obstinance,
Continues to present living symbols that still reek of black men's blood and death.
Here is one example...

THE HISTORY OF A SOUTH CAROLINA OAK TREE
(Charleston, South Carolina)
The men cheered, and the women supported their exuberance, as they all watched the man die!
Just another dead negro who thought he had the right to bust his chains and escape his master.
Oak Trees make the best platforms to hang a man from... the reminder continues to grow for centuries.
They grow well in the South Carolina sun and humidity... with lots of negro blood in the soil for fertilizer!
