Twelve year old Cynthia is staring out her bedroom window.

She is looking for any movement out among the trees.

She knows that something she wants,

 More than anything else in the world,

Might be out there in the darkness and the dark shadows.

All she knows it this... "I Want My Papa!"

Mommy told me, just a few weeks ago, that my papa died of a heart attack down in Houma.

That is all she told me... but, I do not understand why his heart attacked him and killed him.

All momma now does is work all day, cry all evening and pray to the Loa down in Houma at night.

I have seen the scary things that happen when momma prays... very scary things... but, like her, I want my papa!
